We have a role for Mainframe Database Administrator.
Description Content:
The Data Base Administrator (DBA) provides Application Database administration, management and Support
• Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system
• Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers
• Enrolling users and maintaining system security
• Ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreement
• Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
• Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database
• Planning for backup and recovery of database information
• Maintaining archived data
• Backing up and restoring databases
• Contacting database vendor for technical support
• Generating various reports by querying from database as per need
• Managing and monitoring data replication
Description of activities
• Day-to-day activities managing databases (incidents, tasks, changes, etc.)
• Proposal, implementation of manageable solutions in production environment
• Technical study on projects (database structure)
• Handle environments (Tests, QA, Production)
• Help application support team
• Database administration
• Key Indicators : database management and monitoring
• Documentation on database configuration (monitoring, recovery, deploy, etc)
Technical Requirement
Mainframe Technology
• Hands on experience of SQL language
• Ability to create DB2's objects with DDL
• Hands on experience of DB2 database administration
• Knowledge of z/OS System
• Knowledge of Endevor or other source code management and release management tool --- Knowledge of IMS DB/DC
Soft skills
• Excellent communication and conversation skills (Verbal and Written)
• Good documentation skills
• Good working knowledge of MS OFFICE
• Should have a great customer handling skills
• Able to handle unforeseen situations
• Good understanding of ITIL V3 framework (Incident / Change /Event and Problem management)
• Experience from working in an production environment
• Trouble shooting methodology
• Team working
• Experience of working in a global environment
• Available for on duty work
