MAX IV is a national large-scale research laboratory providing scientists from Sweden and the rest of the world with instruments for research in areas such as materials science, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology. Fully developed it will receive more than 3 000 scientists annually. 250 people are currently employed at the MAX IV Laboratory.
Engineering is a group in the Accelerator division, divided in 7 teams and responsible throughout the entire MAX IV facility for:
Vacuum, Mechanical design, Mechanical manufacturing, Automation and electrical systems, Stability, alignment and (optical metrology) (SAM), Water cooling systems and Installation and maintenance coordination (MIC).
Tasks
• Responsible for machine safety at MAX IV Laboratory and for applying regulatory compliance standards in machine safety
• Responsible to coordinate the machine safety work group at MAX IV Laboratory
• Lead the process of CE marking of scientific equipment developed at MAX IV Laboratory
• Responsible for conducting risk analysis with focus on machine safety
• Responsible for compiling technical files for equipment developed at MAX IV Laboratory
• Responsible for issuing declaration of conformity for equipment developed at MAX IV Laboratory
• Taking part in regular safety audits with focus on machine safety
Qualifications
• Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with relevance for the position
• Minimum three years of working experience with machine safety
• Knowledge and experience with Machinery Directive
• Experience in project management and working with technical projects
• Experience reviewing equipment, including conveyance and machinery for proper guarding, interlocks, and safety features
• Experience in project management and working with technical projects
To be successful in this position we expect the right candidate to have the ability to take initiative and to collaborate with different teams and functions as well as work independently. It's important that the candidate is quality conscious and structured. Good command of written and spoken English is required.
