Autonomous Transport Solutions (ATS) Pre-Development & Research, ECP, is responsible for developing, testing and piloting future ATS concepts. This work is done using agile and self-steered teams with the ambition to detect and evaluate upcoming technologies, and prepare these for industrialisation.
The Sensors and Machine Learning group is responsible for the environment sensors and their associated data processing. We are looking for a senior machine learning specialist with a desire to forge our path forward in this rapidly evolving field. This positon offers you a key role in finding and evaluating the most promising methods for processing the data generated by the latest generation autonomous vehicle sensing technologies.
Your work duties
The ability to accurately detect and classify the environment surrounding the vehicle is critical to its safe automated operation. Your duties will be develop and evaluate machine learning based concepts and solutions for processing sensor data to obtain meaningful information. Many current solutions depend heavily on deep neural networks. This work will be done together with other experts in the team as well as in cooperation with academia and our partners inside and outside the Volkswagen group.
Your profile
You are a graduate engineer with several years of documented professional experience in development and/or research related to machine learning systems. You have a firm grasp of the foundation technologies in the area as well as the latest research directions and findings. Additionally you are a strong problem-solver who is used to working in early development stages in a rapidly changing field. It is beneficial if you have experience from the automotive field. The work involves significant cooperation internally and externally, good communication skills are essential.
Fluent English proficiency is required, as well as ability to speak or willingness to learn Swedish.
