RISE is expanding in the field of bioeconomy and we are now looking for a new colleague who wants to be a part of the development towards a future circular and fossil-free society. We work in close cooperation with industry and researchers worldwide. Together, we generate and refine research results and ideas based primarily on forest raw materials.
RISE Energy Technology Center (ETC) performs research covering our thematic focus areas of sustainable hydrocarbon fuels, carbon free energy solutions, computer-based process optimization and high value-added materials. Within our business there are currently around 30 employees, mainly researchers, engineers and technical staff.
About the position
RISE ETC wishes to increase the share of applied machine learning for industrial applications in its portfolio. We have successfully completed similar, state-of-the-art projects recently. You will take part in applied machine learning projects that are aimed to improve efficiency in the metallurgical, chemical and process industries. You will participate in all aspects of software development leading to designing, implementing and maintaining machine learning pipelines and workflows related to these projects. Your work will include building new product features across the back end and front end using Python and JavaScript, optimizing code for maintainability, scalability, and security and implementing graphical user interfaces for internal use and clients.

About you
You are primarily a software engineer with the following skills:
Required:
Strong programming skills in Python and other languages as JavaScript and C++
Good knowledge of Linux and Windows environment, distributed systems and the TCP/IP Network stack
Familiar with modern machine learning frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow
Familiar with object-oriented and/or functional programming approaches
Good knowledge in English (written and spoken)
You have an engineering degree
Meritorious:
Experience with setting up and maintaining Linux hardware (small and medium size workstations) and computer networks
Knowledge in Swedish
Domain knowledge in the metallurgical, chemical and process industries.
You are open minded, a quick learner and easy to work with.
