www.babyshop.comABOUT THE POSITION
Data Science plays a vital role in Babyshop's organisation, enabling data-driven decisions supported by both ad-hoc analysis as well as highly complex ML-models. We have machine learning models deployed, leveraging massive amounts of data, within multiple areas such as recommender systems, search & rank, demand predictions, CLV-predictions and attribution models to name some. You will join the Data Science team and primarily work with products to support the Growth department in our customer acquisition & retention strategy. Here, you will develop production grade code, ML-algorithms as well as infrastructure to ensure reliability and scalability. We believe that how we leverage data, accompanied by a customer-centric mindset, is the differentiating factor and are looking for an individual who shares that belief.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Produce high quality code, leveraging software development as well as ML-Ops best practices, to create long-lasting, easily maintainable, code and algorithms.
• Design, engineer and improve algorithms mainly focused on our customer acquisition & retention strategy: CLV-predictions, Attribution modelling and Purchase probability predictions.
• Being an integral part in the full lifecycle of ML-development: Forming hypotheses, data munging raw data, setting up experiments as well as evaluating them. This, followed by full-scale deployment into production, with continuous re-training, validation and monitoring.
• Help idealise, plan and deliver intelligent algorithms, at scale, while working closely with business and tech to meet ambitious goals.
• Keeping up to date with the latest ML modelling advances as well as within the ML-Ops field.
• Integrate ML-algorithms into the platform, both independently and in close collaboration with software developers.
• Contribute to innovation within the company, coming up with new ways to leverage ML and data.
WHO YOU ARE
• You have a MSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Computer Science/Information Technology, Economics/Econometrics or other quantitative scientific discipline and/or relevant work experience.
• You believe good code is as important as good algorithms.
• You are fluent in SQL (we use Snowflake), Python (which is our core language) and Data Science & ML packages (Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow etc).
• You have experience engineering and implementing tree based models and deep learning architectures.
• You have a good understanding of cloud technologies (we use GCP).
• You are pragmatic in how you approach problems, understanding it starts with fully grasping the problem and ends with engineering the solution, not the other way around.
• You are not afraid of trying out new tools or technologies, and have an aspiration to continuously develop.
• You are interested in keeping up to date with scientific advancements.
• You are a strong English communicator, both written and spoken.
IT'S A PLUS IF YOU
• Have experience deploying ML-models into production, as well as the surrounding infrastructure including Docker, Kubernetes and ML-pipeline orchestration tools (we use Kubeflow Pipelines).
• Have experience working with CLV-Predictions and/or Attribution modelling.
• Have experience working with GA Measurement Protocol API, Google Ads API and/or Facebook Marketing API.
