The Physical Layer Algorithm and Simulation team is responsible for development of simulator environments for the WCDMA and LTE physical layer implementations of ST-Ericsson platforms. The simulators are used for algorithm development in the systemization phase, for generating input to the standardization bodies (3GPP), and for verification of the system design. The platform implementation (both Hardware and Software) is also verified against the simulators. Furthermore, they are used to optimize platform performance e.g. by parameter tuning and can be used as a reference in lab test and when trouble shooting.

We now need to strengthen both the WCDMA and the LTE simulation team. As a simulation engineer you will be involved in work throughout the whole platform life cycle with systemization, algorithm design and optimization, verification of the design by means of performance simulations and supporting ASIC designers with verification data. You will also participate in problem solving in the later development phases of the platform. Thru the work you will hence gain a deep understanding of the physical layer design and play an important role in securing that our platforms have the competitive edge.

Simulations are made in a C/C++ environment. Thorough programming skills are thus essential. Experience with tools like Matlab, other link level simulation tools and IT++ is also an asset. You will work in an international team located in Lund in Sweden, and collaborate with other simulation teams in Germany, France and Japan. We work in close cooperation with other functional teams, organizations and sites that are involved in the implementation and realization of the platform. The international environment requires that you feel confident in using English for communication verbally, as well as in writing.
Your main working site will be Lund, Sweden. As part of the job is possible to do remotely from other locations, we will be flexible on how much time that needs to be spent I Lund. However, the possibility to relocate to Lund is a factor that will be taken into account in the selection process. Please inform about your ability to relocate in the application. Competence:
At least five years relevant working experience
M. Sc. or Ph. D. degree in a relevant field
Good understanding of telecommunication systems, in particular WCDMA/LTE Layer 1/air interface.
Experience of algorithm development and system design, utilizing knowledge from at least one of the following areas: signal processing, estimation or information theory.
Thorough technical programming skills in C/C++
Used to analytical work
Good communication and documentation skills
Excellent English skills, both verbal and in writing
High ability to work independen, take initiative and drive own work
Good social and networking skills to support teamwork in project
Well organized, structured and curious
