Job Summary
Our growing company is in need of an ambitious, highly motivated and structured Chief Technology Officer to maintain, manage and improve NewGlue's product and overall tech team. NewGlue is a "Digital Branding Agency", giving small businesses access to several user-friendly tools to brand their business (logos, advertising, business cards etc).
About the Position
We are looking for a for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to provide sound technical leadership in all aspects of our business. You will communicate with employees, stakeholders and customers to ensure our company's technologies are used appropriately.
Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential in this role. We expect you to be well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts. If you are also an excellent communicator and public speaker, we'd like to meet you.
CTO's Responsibilities
• Develop technical aspects of the company's strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals
• Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage
• Help departments use technology profitably
• Supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency
• Build quality assurance and data protection processes
• Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
• Use stakeholders' feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology
• Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors
Primary technologies
• Ruby 2.2/edge, Ruby on Rails 4.x/edge
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL))
• TDD with Rspec
• Basic HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (jQuery), NodeJS.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (Redis)
• Experience with ElasticSearch
• EC2, S3
• Load balancer
• RDS
• Elastic Cache
• Route 53
• .NET, JSP/Servlets
• Amazon AWS platform, AWS CodeDeploy, AWS CodePipeline, AWS Autoscaling
Developer experience
• Should have at least 5+ years of professional work experience.
Salary & Equity
• We're offering a starting salary of 40,000 SEK / monthly
o Ability to renegotiate after 6 months
