The role, manage and coordinate the Outbound logistics process for Volvo Car Group, VCG. The main purpose of this department is to secure the process of car distribution. Flow starts from Factory complete until the car is delivered to the dealer, importer or Sales Company Stock Location. The logistics coordinator will report to Manager for Transport Operations and Planning.
The Team consists of 8 persons with both woman and men working with Road and Ocean transports in a global seamless flow. There will be a launch up of new carriers on several markets. Backup solutions are managed within the team and that's a way to drive competence development.
Purpose:
Manage and coordinate the Outbound logistics process for Volvo Car Group, VCG. The main purpose of this department is to secure the process of car distribution. Flow starts from Factory complete until the car is delivered to the dealer, importer or Sales Company Stock Location.
Main tasks:
• Daily monitor and coordinate the vehicle process at VCG including transports with mainly trucks, ships, trains or any other transport modal.
• Stay in daily contact with Carriers, Yards, Hubs, Compounds, National Sales Companies, Customs, Finance, IT systems and Vehicle plants for operational issues (delivery performance, capacity, launches, quality etc.).
• Provide our markets with timely and correct information about their loadings, arrivals and transport
documents.
• Continuously analyze the Key Performance Indicators of the Outbound process (delivery, dwell time, edi status reporting, lead time etc.).
• To act in cross-functional teams of people in VCG and Carriers in order to develop and improve the distribution process from a performance, quality, lead time and cost view.
• Monitor and co-ordinate activities in:
• The Outbound logistics process incl. National Sales Companies, NSC or Importers and take decisions when deviations occur.
• Events like quarter closings, model year's changes, car launches and NSC open door activities.
• Together with the Transport Manager set priorities to support the VCG business from a holistic point of view.
• KPI and Management reports.
• Development
• Analyze the KPIs of the Outbound Logistics process.
• Initiate improvements in the respective line management.
• Represent VCG in the different decision platforms.
• Represent The Outbound Logistics process in VCG applications groups
• Participate in network , sourcing, development and cost saving projects
• Participate in launching new carriers and flows.

Competence Requirements:
• Knowledge of the routines and working methods within Outbound Logistics.
• Operational experience is needed from Carriers, Yards/Compounds/Hubs, Vehicle plants, National Sales Companies, IT systems, Customs handling, Harbor operations such us car maintenance, PDI/VPC, Port Delivery & Inspection and Volvo Processing Center.
• Very good skills to lead and plan operations.
IT systems used are:
• TMS, Transport Management System ( IBM)
• Atacq, Yard system
• CIS/Vista, Sales Order systems
• Volvo internal systems like MSS Dashboard, Hercules/MPS
We work in Microsoft Office and good Excel knowledge is useful as well as Outlook Calendar.
Knowledge of VCG Value chain, Volvo Cars Manufacturing System, IT systems interaction, production planning, production, distribution processes, market, sales companies and importers structures.
