About us:
H2 Green Steel is on a mission to disrupt the global steel industry by producing green steel, with the end goal of bringing down CO2 emissions to zero. By using green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity instead of coal; water and heat will be our primary emissions. By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in Boden, located in northern Sweden - currently in construction phase. Logistics Specialist
The Logistics Specialist will be responsible overseeing and coordinating all transport, logistics and distribution of goods and materials for their appointed construction stream. They will act as the link between the construction team and the transport provider and off-site warehouses. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of international logistics or freight forwarding and a proven track record involving processes and reducing costs.
Responsibilities:
• Be the focal point for all transport and logistics related matters for movement of goods for their specified construction stream.
• Responsible for full ownership of all shipments from point of origin to the onsite warehouse and handover to contractors.
• In conjunction with the appointed transport supplier, monitor, track and ensure on time delivery of shipments. Takes full ownership of shipments from point of shipment to point of delivery.
• Understand on a day to day basis what materials and goods are stored within distributed warehouses relating to their construction stream. Provide daily reports on such.
• Have expert knowledge on all international shipping documentation including - harmonized tariff codes, country of origin, commercial invoices, BOL, airway bill.
• Books transport provider for specified deliveries from distributed locations to site considering cost, lead-time, carrier capacity and warehouse constraints.
• Provides daily operational support to construction streams and Procurement teams regarding expected shipment and arrival dates.
• Assesses carrier performance with respect to on-time delivery and on-time pick-up.
• Continually searches for improvement opportunities in transportation processes.
• Responsible for cargo request accuracy: descriptions, valuations, Dangerous Goods notes, Controlled Goods, harmonized tariff codes, country of origin.
• Prepares and organizes a daily transportation schedule to site.
• Follow-up on deviations, detecting and avoiding waiting time, service delays in conjunction with transport provider.
• Follow up with procurement and suppliers until product availability at origin.
• Support relevant Quantity Surveyors & Finance for controlling reimbursable and rechargeable freight costs.
• Capture and report red money.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or freight forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of international logistics operations, distribution systems, including routing, scheduling and tracking.
• Experience in booking sea freight shipments involving containers and break bulk, rail and air freight.
• Knowledge of transportation of Out Of Gauge Heavy Haulage Transports.
• Experience in customs regimes and customs clearance of goods within the EU
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and logistics platforms/ERP systems.
