ALTEN's subsidiary XDIN INC in The US is now searching for a Logistics Engineer who wants to join their team. In this position you would be responsible for designing and maintaining the logistics standards within a given area. You should also have the ability to coordinate and drive project results to ensure stations can accept logistics flows and you would be responsible for ensuring the logistics IT system is setup and maintained correctly. Further responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities
• Design the production and logistics line-side in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineers (ME) and Logistics Engineers (LE)
• Design internal and external logistics processes that utilize lean manufacturing concepts
• Define strategies to optimize procedures, minimize wastes, and decrease logistics costs
• Implement future material handling flows and all supporting physical and electronic processes and documentation
• Update Plan for Every Part and Station Design based on decisions made with ME and LE
• Maintain IT system based on part introductions, station changes, and flow changes of a part
• Develop and maintain plant logistics standards
• Key responsible for a root cause analysis for any material availability within the stations responsible for
• Single point of contact for any logistics related items in responsible station(s)

Critical Competencies
• Analytical Skills: Interpret CAD layouts, advanced excel skills & data analysis, understanding of logistics packaging and impact on flow & station. From analysis and interpretations, LE PFEP will need to be able to make recommendations to stakeholders as well as adjust station standards to accommodate best alternatives.
• Understanding of different material flows: kanban, sequencing, synchronous, batch, component flows and when to use/apply each concept.
• Leadership: Setting and modeling high performance standards and empowering a team of people to achieve agreed-upon outcomes.
• Problem Solving/Decision Making: Taking a well-ordered approach to solving problems and acting despite obstacles or resistance.
• Initiative: Taking action in the absence of specific instructions or in the absence of a specific requirement, taking reasonable risks to achieve results, and persevering when challenged.
• Dependability/Reliability: Following through on commitments, producing timely work, and pitching in to get the job done.

Skills and Knowledge
The position requires that you have to be proficient in both oral and written communication in English (other languages:Swedish and French would be a plus). A background in shop floor experience would be highly preferred. It is preferable that you have a working knowledge of project management techniques and strong PC skills (must be advanced/proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically MS Excel, Access a plus). You need to have good knowledge about AutoCAD and have a previous automotive or manufacturing experience. It is desirable that you have been working with warehouse management systems and lean manufacturing concepts and principles. Skills that you need to have is a understanding and applications of Six Sigma. A minimum Education requirement is a Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
