Being a Logistic Manager requires a holistic- and cross functional approach with the ability to work pre-season, in season and long term all at the same time. The Logistic Manager is solely accountable for organizing the handling, distribution and storage of all goods in the area of responsibility and to ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost. For choosing the right way of transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods. In this position you have 3 direct reporting employees and also responsibility for the staff in China even if they report to another manager.
For planning and supervising all shipments (inbound and outbound) from the production site of both raw material (if relevant) and ready products to the stores and/or end user.
For negotiating prices and conditions with all forwarders and service providers in the chain and make it possible to live up to our statement "selling more to a total lower cost".
Training and advising the central and country organisations in how to optimise our total logistic operations, reducing lead-times, eliminate risks and reduce staff hours.
Main tasks and areas of responsibility:
The stores are the reason for our existence and therefore the main task for all co-workers in R&SC is to serve and suport our stores.
Set goals and develop budgets for the logistic units, warehouses and hubs.
Develop a transport and delivery plan optimised- and efficient for the stores but in a cost-efficient way and in close cooperation with the category managers, Sourcing Companies and other stake-holders.
Advise category managers in choice of supplier from a logistic perspective.
Negotiating price- and delivery conditions with all forwarders, shipping companies, service providers and all other suppliers of logistic services.
Write and sign contracts and all other documentation necessary (supplier contacts, Plantagens general purchase conditions, Plantagens code of conduct, etc.). Customs handling, custom laws and regulations.
Update all relevant calculation tools with the costs for transport, handling and all other logistic charges.
Advise Category Manager in Lead times, DFP settings and packaging solutions when relevant.
Responsible for analysing:
* Relevant laws and regulations regarding transport and logistics, import and export, etc. * Cost development (transport, handling, containers, trolleys etc.) * Terms & conditions (payment, contributions, rent charges, etc.) * Market situation and development * Supplier performance * Warehouse management; improvement, development and innovations. * responsible for supporting the stores, region managers and colleagues in other departments whenever necessary. * Communicate relevant logistic information with the stores, region managers and colleagues in other departments whenever necessary. * Support the category managers to guarantee maximum availability and sales with minimum shrinkage. * Follow up relevant KPIs (delays, delivery accuracy, temperature, etc.) on a weekly or daily (in peak) bases and initiate necessary actions to maximize the profit of each product in the range. * Follow up waste in the warehouse and/or hubs and take necessary actions. * Keep control over the stock situation and the capacity in the warehouse and keep track on the incoming goods. * Adjust and update delivery plans when necessary.As a person we want you to lead your team by example, Have ability to plan, prioritize and organize.
You have a strong drive and are efficient, logical, structured and stress resistant.
Critical thinking, social competence and communication skills are a must, we also want you to be a problem solver and independent.
Frequent travelling to the Plantagen offices, warehouses and distribution centres is mandatory.
