The role, Logistics Engineer - Exception Handling, is located within the Transport Execution function within the Inbound logistics organisation and will report to the Senior Manager Transport Execution. The Logistics Engineer - Exception Handling is located in Torslanda, Sweden.
The arena
The purpose of the Transport Execution function is to ensure inbound transportation execution for production material to plants, warehouses and consolidation centres. This function is critical to manage the timely shipping and arrival of production material for 5 factories on a daily basis. Delayed shipments will lead to production loss. Inbound transportation and terms to be agreed with carriers, part suppliers and the receiving plant's incoming goods reception.
The role
Exception Handling - monitoring of shipments and handling of exceptions.
Tracking and tracing of transports:
Providing transport related information to all stakeholders (single point of contact).
Track and trace pick-ups and deliveries.
Act on identified exceptions (anything that is not running as planned).
Handling of exceptions:
Coordinating and organizing alternatives.
Communicating selected alternative to all stakeholders.
Escalating any transport issues that cannot be resolved.
Documenting exceptions:
Documenting root causes and actual status of exception.
Providing documentation to all stakeholders.
Implementing counter measures to avoid exceptions in the future.
Managing premium freight:
Organizing cost-optimal premium freights.
Providing track and trace information to all stakeholders.

Proven knowledge and experience of transportation handling, preferably from inbound logistics and/or freight forwarding processes and/or air freight.
Knowledge of carriers operations.
An educational degree in logistics preferred.
Ability to quickly assess complex critical situations.
Proven abilities to perform well under pressure.
Personal qualities:
Service minded.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Good ability to communicate and take action in case of unplanned situations.
Good English language skills.
