Prevent entry of unauthorized persons into the Embassy compound. Screen visitors to the Embassy by searching the person and their belongings. Inspect vehicles desiring to enter the Embassy compound. Provide escorts of visitors and temporary construction workers, as required. Inform the Local Guard Supervisor and MSG Post of potential security threats or problems, and assist in resolving these problems, as directed. Protect U.S. Government property from fire, damage, or theft. Display professional appearance and conduct at all times in the performance of duties. Rotating Shift Schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Completion of secondary school.
2. Experience as a Guard or from similar security work.
3. English Level 3 and Swedish level 2.
4. Professional appearance and conduct at all times. Service minded.
5. Must have local driver's license. Swedish B*** drivers license.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. This position is available to Swedish nationals or permanent legal residents as well as
to American citizens with permanent residence permits in Sweden, under the terms of
the Rockefeller amendment authorizing Embassies to hire Americans abroad for FSN
positions, and Embassy American Family Members.
2. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
3. Applicants are selected for appointment on the basis of the education, experience, and suitability for the position to be filled.
4. Applicants are subject to security investigation and clearance.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Applicants are selected for appointment on the basis of the education, experience, and suitability for the position to be filled. When equally qualified, Eligible Family Members and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Candidates who claim U.S. Veterans preference must provide a copy of their Form DD-214 with their application.
Therefore, it is essential that all candidates address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
• The Office of Human Resources will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and visa status in determining successful candidacy.
• Current employees serving six months probationary period are not eligible to apply.
• Applicants must be eligible for employment under host government laws and regulations
