Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding experience in a small, fast and international organization? Birdstep is now looking for a Linux technician that primary will work with testing of server solutions and smartphone applications for operators around the world.

Beskrivning av tjänsten
Birdstep is currently looking for a Linux technician to the QA team for Smart Mobile Data in Stockholm. The team consists of 3 persons and you will be reporting to Head Quality Assurance.
You will assist on projects in:
• Do testing of new features on both server and smartphone solutions
• Identifying issues related to client, hardware or drivers.
• Do configuration work to change the behavior of the client and server.
• Do regression testing for customer deliveries
• You will also work with test and quality assurance of other Birdstep products.
To give our customers the best service we pay them frequent visits, so a certain amount of international travelling may be required.
Vem är du?
Competence requirements:
• Good knowledge about Linux and server configuration since the server software runs on Linux-based systems (CentOS). Knowledge about how to handle the tools that are default in Linux (vi, grep, awk)
• Good skills in web server management (install and configure)
• Knowledge about how to install and configure a database
• Possess a genuine interest in testing, improving personal QA knowledge and developing business knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
It is an advantage if you have an understanding of android software and virtual machines. Also, knowledge about GPRS/UMTS/WLAN solutions, IP communication protocol, other software test certifications, Agile methodologies is an advantage but not a requirement.
To succeed in the role you need to be structured, flexible, communicative and proactive. You manage to maintain specialist knowledge and to share this knowledge with other team members.
