We are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator with a strong focus on automation and system architecture to design, build, and maintain a GPU-accelerated Remote Desktop (VDI) platform. The environment supports pre- and post-processing of HPC workloads, such as simulations, visualization, and rendering, using Rocky Linux / RHEL with X11 and Xfce4.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain the Linux-based GPU-enabled Remote Desktop infrastructure (DCV/EF/SLURM/X11/Xfce4).
Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines using Ansible.
Ensure security, scalability, performance, and reliability across all deployments.
Collaborate closely with HPC and infrastructure teams.
Document architecture, configuration, and deployment procedures for long-term maintainability.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator, preferably with Rocky Linux or RHEL.
Strong skills in automation and IaC (Ansible or similar).
Proficient in Bash scripting (Python experience is a plus).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control.
Knowledge of X11, desktop environments (Xfce4, GNOME, etc.), and remote rendering protocols.
Good understanding of networking, security, and monitoring tools (Prometheus preferred).
Strong architectural mindset and ability to manage complex systems independently.
Meriting
Experience in HPC environments and SLURM scheduler.
Experience with NICE DCV, EF Portal (EnginFrame), Open OnDemand, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with Docker/Podman and observability solutions.
Start: 2025-11-11
Duration: Until 2026-03-31 (extension possible)
Location: Södertälje (hybrid or by agreement)
