Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering Skövde are responsible for preparation of manufacturing for propulsion system and components for Volvo Cars Corporation (VCC). The mission is to develop highly efficient production systems and processes for machining, assembly, and testing for all propulsion plants within VCC.
To make sure that our manufacturing systems, that build our propulsion systems, are developed to meet the future demands and secure our customer's expectations, we are searching for a Line & Equipment Engineer for preparation of our machining systems and be a part of our global VCES ME preparation team.
As a Line & Equipment Engineer you will make sure that our manufacturing systems are developed to meet the future demands and secure our customer's expectations. The main role is to prepare the setup with common global bill of process for our manufacturing systems as a part of our global Manufacturing Engineering team and act on global level. There are business travels to expect on this position, which will take place few times per year on different locations, mainly in Europe and China but also in other areas.

As a Line & Equipment Engineer within Manufacturing Engineering you will have global responsibility for designing machining systems for combustion and electric propulsion engines within Volvo Cars Corporation.

Main responsibilities
* Preparation of machining systems for combustion and electric propulsion engines in a global environment
* Manage development of manufacturing solutions considering global and local aspects for local implementation
* Manage and prepare global manufacturing concepts, including launch, ready for local implementation for programs, running changes and capacity increase
* Improve methods and processes to meet future demands and company goals
* Work cross-functional within the department and together with other departments such as design, research and development
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical engineering or other equivalent field with relevant experience
* At least five years of experience in manufacturing and machining systems
* Experience in project management and leadership skills
* Experience of industrial systems, procedures and organizations
* Automotive and international working experience are a merit
* Experience in automotive electrification or similar are highly meritorious
* Knowledge in Volvo Cars systems is meritorious
* Due to daily communication with the plant, Swedish language is beneficial, however fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory
