Lighting Engineer - Perceived Quality Material & Illumination
At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. As LIGHTING ENGINEER within the group Perceived Quality Material & Illumination you will take on a new exciting position. Your work will include specifications of technical requirements, analysis, verification, method development and project management within the attribute area Perceived Quality. The daily work will include transforming ideas into solutions to meet the high standards of future luxury vehicles. Illumination and interior lighting has a strong impact on the quality impression of the car. Volvo Cars has a unique connection to the area through its heritage, Scandinavia being well known for its Nordic light. New lighting technology is becoming available on the market enabling lights to be more integrated in the car interior (and exterior) creating atmosphere and effects. We are looking for someone with strong technical competence and high personal energy.
Job profile:
• Lead and develop the attribute area Illumination including technical attribute strategy
• Specify the attribute level with regard to the desired degree of customer satisfaction and competitiveness
• Lead verification method development
• Participate in development of technical solutions
Your profile:
• University degree in light design / light planning / light engineering
• Experience in light planning work and in product development
• Organised and structured
• Very good analytical ability and strong technical competence
• Excellent communication skills
• Good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
• Driven and self-starting
