MachineGames is seeking a talented Lighting Artist to join our team. As a Lighting Artist you will work closely with our Art Director to ensure aesthetics quality is kept at the highest-level throughout all the art assets produced and throughout the product



Responsibilities

• Responsible for the final lighting in the cinematics

• Taking already established environments and setting them up to work well with cinematics

• Collaborate with Art Director and Creative Director to develop lighting through verbal and written communication, concepts or reference images/videos for cinematics.

• Collaborate with the Lighting and Effects team in pushing tools development and workflow

• Work with and develop in-house tools for lighting and scripting

• Explore through R&D the technology improvements that could be done to further develop pipelines and tools for development of effects and lighting to communicate this to programmers within the Advanced Gameplay & Effects team

• To use the existing tools to create intriguing mood and lighting required for the game.

Requirements

• Great understanding of and appreciation for milestones, schedules, deadlines and efficient game development processes

• Excellent team player with strong work ethic and a collaborative/cooperative attitude

• Self-motivated, but able to receive constructive feedback and integrate into work

• Skeen artistic eye and strong commitment to quality

• University degree or equivalent experience

• At least one shipped title

• Passion for making great games

MachineGames was established in 2009 by former founding members of Starbreeze Studios and acquired by ZeniMax Media in 2010. Located in Uppsala, Sweden, MachineGames is a studio comprised of a seasoned group of developers recognized for their work creating story-driven games. Their first title, the critically-acclaimed action-adventure shooter, Wolfenstein: The New Order, is a reimagining of the franchise widely credited for helping establish the first-person shooter genre. Launched in May 2014, the game has garnered numerous 'Game of the Year' and 'Shooter of the Year' awards and nominations from media outlets worldwide. Launched in May 2015, The Old Blood was well received by fans and critics for bringing more of the thrilling action-adventure shooter gameplay they loved in The New Order, and unveiling more of this reimagined world while paying homage to the franchise's roots.
