The School now seeks for a Lic candidate in Environmental Science, with focus on Sanitary Engineering and in particular, alternative toilet systems.
The research will be carried out in the form a laboratory, pilot and full-scale studies in close connection with the industry and manufacturing companies. Two PhD students in the Environmental Engineering research group are working with integrated industrial wastewater and stormwater management in the industry sector, which offers a stimulating environment for exchange of knowledge, interdisciplinary discussions, and help in laboratory and field work.
Several pharmaceuticals have been detected in the environment and negative impacts have also been described. The research will focus on water-saving low-cost and easy-to-manage toilet systems with focus on pharmaceuticals.
