hela Sverige Volvo Group Treasury, the Volvo Group's internal bank, has the global funding responsibility for the Volvo Group. We are also responsible for management of interest bearing assets and liabilities, execution of foreign exchange transactions and the financial infrastructure of the Volvo Group.
Our operations involve monitoring and transacting on global and local financial markets on a daily basis. We work from four sites across the world, to optimize the Volvo Group?s cost of capital, manage financial risks and to provide the Group with first class treasury and cash management related services.
Legal Counsel:
Volvo Treasury Legal consists of four persons, and an opportunity has now opened for a Legal Counsel to join our team of lawyers in G?teborg.
In this role, you will support Volvo Treasury?s operations worldwide. You will report to the Head of Legal, Volvo Treasury, and cooperate closely with other Treasury departments as well as other Volvo Group functions.
Your work will include daily interactions with banks and other counterparties to negotiate and manage contracts for capital market programs, loans and other funding arrangements, banking services and all other products and services used in Volvo Treasury. Proactive work to ensure that we are well prepared to meet new regulatory initiatives is an inherent part of the job, and so is managing external legal services. You will also support Volvo Treasury companies in general corporate and compliance matters.
Qualifications:
The Legal Counsel we are looking for has a university degree in law and at least three years post-degree experience from working as a legal counsel with a law firm, bank, or at a corporate legal department. Solid experience from commercial transactions is a requirement; financial law experience is a merit.
To be successful in the role, you will need a strong interest to learn and develop in financial law. Perhaps you want to add financial law as a part of a general commercial law competence, or wish to grow a specialist competence in the field ? the position offers opportunities in both directions.
Joining Volvo Treasury as Legal Counsel will also make you part of the Volvo Group?s global team of more than 100 in-house lawyers. Being responsive, proactive and business oriented, while maintaining integrity and independence at all times, are part of baseline requirements on all Group lawyers. You will also need excellent people and networking skills and a good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
