Corporate Legal Affairs (GL) is a part of the Corporate Unit Corporate Legal Affairs and Risk Management (G) and the central function of Scania's global legal support organisation located at the head-office in Södertälje, Sweden. The team is led by Scania's General Counsel, and consists of another five experienced legal counsels along with administrative resources. The position

In this new role as Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for matters relating to the decision and judgment from the EU Commission and the General Court of the EU against Scania for alleged participation in an illegal, European-wide cartel. This includes among other things to manage and co-ordinate, through an extensive pool of external counsel, vast court proceedings in multiple jurisdictions around follow-on claims for damages. Responsibilities may also cover other dispute resolution matters and general legal advice to Scania's business operations in a variety of areas such as competition law and IP.

You will report to Scania's General counsel, who is also the Senior Vice President of Corporate Legal Affairs and Risk Management. The position involves a degree of travel.

Requirements

To succeed in this position, we believe you have a Master's degree in Law and several years of qualified international work experience with a multinational company or a business law firm. You have comprehensive experience co-ordinating complex and data-critical matters such as court proceedings, licensing application matters and/or M&A transactions. Expertise within litigation and/or competition law is meritorious, but not a mandatory requirement. Mastering business English is a requirement, whereas advanced business German is a plus.

As a person, you are business oriented with a strong team spirit. You are also self-sufficient, meticulous and with a driving force along with excellent communications and organisational skills paired with developed integrity.
