We are looking for an open minded and business-oriented person to join our Legal team with primary areas of responsibility in consumer law and privacy. Telenor is rapidly heading towards a digital and data driven future and we are looking for people with a natural proactive drive who wish to make a difference.
What does a Legal Counsel at Telenor do?
The Legal team consists of five legal counsels and one legal coordinator, who all advise the company on legal issues and strategic projects. The Legal team also collaborates closely with the Public & Regulatory Affairs team and the Privacy Office.
What you 'll do
As Legal Counsel at Telenor you will be part of the Legal Team which supports the company including subsidiaries with contracts, negotiations and various legal issues and disputes. The role requires broad commercial legal competence, including giving legal advice in the day-to-day business, contract drafting and negotiations.
You will be the Legal Department's primary point of contact to Telenor's Consumer Division with focus on consumer law, marketing law, e-commerce, etc. and in addition you will support and guide the entire organization in Privacy/GDPR issues, for example interpretation of GDPR and other relevant privacy legislation. You will support the commercial teams with legal advice around privacy, privacy impact assessments, and drafting data processing agreements with suppliers and customers. You will work in close dialogue with the organization and report to Head of Legal, Telenor Sweden.
Who you are
We believe that you are a team person with a curious, open and business oriented mindset, while at the same time having strong legal analytical skills. You have the ability to balance risks and business interests and you are excellent in finding answers and solving problems with a pragmatic approach giving tangible and to-the-point advise to the organization. You like to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and in a team.
* A university degree in law and at least 5 years of experience from the courts, law firm or in-house counsel role
* Knowledge and working experience within the fields of consumer law, marketing law and e-commerce
* Practical knowledge and experience related to GDPR and e-Privacy
* Excellent communication skills and fluent in English
* Experience from a company which handle large amounts of customer data is a merit
