Ingka Group Legal & Governance is an increasingly diverse and international team with the task to lead and secure the business from the legal and governance perspective and to safeguard opportunities. We are now looking for a qualified lawyer who is passionate about both business and people, who can't wait to join us in our fun and exciting quest to renew and improve our IKEA franchise relations, together with our partners in the IKEA franchise system!
ABOUT YOU
To succeed in this role, you need to be curious, courageous, flexible and enjoy working close to management in a fast paced and ever-changing international environment. As a person you thrive on exploring different perspectives, finding solutions to challenging situations, building trusting business relationships and co-creating new ways with colleagues around the world. You are fluent in English (our business language) and your share and live the IKEA values.
You will need to be highly organised with the ability to deliver to simultaneous projects and to prioritise and manage work in a manner that is consistent with Ingka Group's business objectives and requirements. You have the ability to navigate legal systems and government policies in a business environment.
The successful candidate is expected to have:
• University degree in law;
• Minimum 5 years of;
professional experience working with legal and governance in a commercial environment; and
stakeholder management and indirect leadership experience

Experience from other franchise systems is a valuable merit.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Legal Counsel - Franchise Relations, you will be reviewing, supporting and securing legal aspects of the IKEA franchise relations and operations within Ingka Group.
In this role, you might find yourself proposing solutions for product compliance related topics to our Chinese team in the morning, signing off on an agreement for a futuristic concept development assignment for IKEA France before lunch and touching base with the US organisation in the afternoon to support the co-operation with our supplier of IKEA Products! The topics and tasks coming your way will be an interesting mix of operations and strategy, high and low, and you will work closely with stakeholders across the IKEA value chain and in all our 33 markets.
Among many other things, you will:
• Give day to day legal support to the business to secure and develop our IKEA franchise operations and relations;
• Support implementation of standard processes and ways of working for IKEA franchise relations in the Ingka Group in collaboration with stakeholders in the Inter IKEA Group;
• Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements and legal documents relating to the IKEA franchise operations;
• Actively support the business to identify opportunities, reduce exposure to legal risks and create awareness and understanding of the legal and business aspects of our franchise relations;
• Cooperate and build good relations with stakeholders within Ingka Group and Inter IKEA Group;
• Equip leaders with legal competence and confidence to make good decisions;
• Develop competence and provide education to relevant stakeholders in the area of franchise relations and be a matrix leader in area of expertise.
The role is based in Malmö, Sweden, and reports into Jenny Petersson Österlind, Franchise Relations Manager. We'll be offering competitive terms and conditions, including relocation support as relevant (if the successful applicant is moving in from abroad).
