At the department General Counsel, we're globally responsible for enabling the business to take risk informed and balanced decisions across all legal disciplines, and we do this by providing qualitative legal support. The complexity of multiple markets, laws and regulations is an everyday challenge - evaluating and managing risks and balancing them against potential profits requires accuracy and strong integrity. We're now looking for a driven and forward-thinking Legal Counsel to our division Crushing and Screening in Svedala, for a versatile and global role where you interact with senior management and support the Division Management team. Your mission As global Legal Counsel, you provide direction and advice to the different functions within Crushing and Screening - the sales, digital, strategy, project management, sourcing and R&D teams - across the complete value chain, and you actively ensure that they capture and avoid diluting value. You give direction on commercial matters and business risks in connection with tenders and quotations, and you act as a point of escalation when negotiating and resolving disputes under sales contracts. You also negotiate procurement contracts and run competitive purchasing tenders. In addition, you proactively identify, give advice and manage legal risks and opportunities to the financial controllers and the Contract and Risk Management team, and you also support and drive governance in the business. In this position, you report directly to the General Counsel of Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology. Some international travel is a natural part of the job, and the preferred location for this position is Svedala, Sweden, although Stockholm, Sweden is also an option. Your character We're looking for someone with a law degree and at least four years post admission experience in private practice at a top tier firm with exposure to corporate and commercial, dispute resolution, intellectual property and/or M&A. Previous in-house legal experience in the manufacturing, construction or mining industries would be considered favorably. It's advantageous if you also have a degree in Business, Commerce or Finance.
