The work is assigned to the Unit for Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism at the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology's Department of Pharmacology. Within the Unit, research is focused on pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and drug metabolism. Besides postgraduate education, the Unit is also responsible for basic and advanced level teaching within the pharmacist and dispenser programs. Teaching is conducted in the Swedish and English languages.

Subject area description
The discipline encompasses the absorption, distribution, biotransformation and excretion of drugs and how gaining knowledge on the rate and extent of these processes can improve drug development and treatment.
Job assignments
Teaching and examination at basic and advanced levels within the pharmacy and dispenser programs, including supervision and examination of Master theses. Course management and development as well as other administrative duties. Conduct of own research activities.
Eligibility
The general qualifications for academic positions in Sweden are given in Chapter 4, Section 3-4 of the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance.
Doctoral degree and demonstrated teaching abilities.
Assessment
In the assessment, emphasis will be placed on pedagogical skills and demonstrated expertise within pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and drug metabolism. Secondly, emphasis will be placed on scientific expertise in the field. Ability to co-operate, administrative ability and personal qualities will also be taken into consideration.
Depending on his/her formal pedagogic qualifications, the successful candidate may be asked to complete an educational training program within the first year of employment.
