The lnstitute of Health and Care Sciences is a national and international leader in person-centered care, which permeates our education,
research and innovation. The department is organized by sections in the form of academic environments which consist of
interdisciplinary profile areas: Care for long-term conditions; Lite contexts and health-promoting care; Diagnosis and care in acute and
critical conditions and Learning and leadership for health professions. The department's administrative staff is organized in an administrative unit.
In the academic environments, the combined competence is integrated in order to promote quality in both education, research and collaboration.
The department conducts professional training for nurses, radiology nurses, midwives and specialist nurses. The undergraduate educations for nurse and radiology nurse lead to both a professional degree and a bachelor's degree. The midwifery programme and the
specialist nursing programme with different specializations lead to vocational degrees in combination with master's degrees. In addition, commissioned training and single subject courses are given on advanced level, which provides the opportunity for studies leading to a master's degree in one of the department's main areas; nursing, radiography and care pedagogy. The department also conducts education at the doctoral level in health sciences .

Subject area description
In the discipline of nursing, knowledge is developed about health, quality of life despite illness or disability and about a peaceful and dignified death. Nursing is based on needs and problems related to health, ill health and to daily life, but also to people's resources and ability to cope. In nursing, it is not only ill health / illness / disability per se that matters, but people's reactions and interpretation of their illness are also in focus. In nursing, a close relationship between nurse, patient and relatives is key.
Duties
The employment position is within the section for long-term conditions. Furthermore, tasks will be given in collaboration with other sections at the department if necessary.
The position includes teaching, overall responsibility for a course, planning and coordination of resources mainly in the modules with a biomedical orientation/content. This refers to special and in-depth competence and knowledge in anatomy and physiology as well as pharmacology with a focus an nursing and clinical application. Furthermore, the tasks include keeping up-to date on research and development in the field. Being the teacher responsible for the course includes development and coordination af the learning objectives, learning activities, examination forms and assessment criteria in relation ta content, purpose and current educational research. It also includes ensuring the quality af the education with validated evaluation forms. As part of the employment, you will also supervise and examine degree project at undergraduate level and advanced level. Administrative tasks related ta the educational activities are a significant part of the duties. It also includes actively working for development af the main area. Other duties may also occur and the content af the employment may change over time.
The employment includes actively working ta achieve the department's objectives and business plan, which includes contributing ta the development af the academic environment within the section. In addition, all employees are expected ta participate in the planned joint meetings and activities organized at the department.
The applicant is expected ta teach in both Swedish and English.
Eligibility
Eligibility for employment as a teacher is stated in the University of Gothenburg's employment regulations.
A completed university degree an advanced level ar higher in nursing ar care, pedagogy, and demonstrated pedagogical skills. Swedish nursing license.
Fluent in Swedish and English in both speaking and writing.
