Faculty of Education and Society
The Faculty of Education and Society is characterised by fresh ideas in the formulation of educational programmes and in its collaboration with schools, local authorities, organisations and business. The faculty, which has about 7,500 students and 320 employees, consists of six departments: Children, Youth and Society (BUS), Sport Sciences (IDV), Society, Culture and Identity (SKI), Culture, Languages and Media (KSM), Natural Science, Mathematics and Society (NMS) and School Development and Leadership (SOL). The faculty has degree-awarding powers in all programmes, with bachelor and master degrees in Pre-School and Education as the goal, and in sports and educational programmes at third cycle level. There are also programmes for study and career guidance counsellors and special educational needs teachers.

Department of Culture, Languages and Media
KSM has teacher education at first and second cycle levels, third-cycle courses and study programmes, academic educational research and contract education. The focus is on how knowledge and meaning are created in a linguistic and aesthetic context, become visible in different media and give expression to people's social and cultural affiliation.

Content and duties
The primary tasks are teaching, supervision and examination in the subject of English within the teacher education programme. Teaching includes course responsibility, course administration and course development. The post refers primarily to English for the Degree of Master of Arts in Primary Education - School Years 4-6, more limited in K-3. The course content is oriented towards global English, internationalisation, interculturality, study resource analysis, project-based learning and language development (especially second language learning). Other teaching at first cycle level may also be included. You will supervise and examine independent work at first cycle level, as well as examination work. Placement learning with visits to teaching students' practice places, as well as teaching in courses in the so-called educational core may also be included. The position includes 10% competence development time.

Qualifications
The qualified lecturer will have:
1. a degree from a university or university college of at least master level with didactic specialisation or equivalent competence, or equivalent skills of relevance to the position.
2. displayed pedagogical skills

Specific requirements for this position:
3. fluent spoken and written English
4. documented experience of teaching English as a foreign language
5. documented experience of supervision and examination at first and second cycle levels in a university or university college

Desirable additional qualifications are:
• documented knowledge of subject didactics and linguistic methodology
• experience of teaching in Swedish compulsory schools or upper secondary schools and/or university college/university
• experience of e-learning
• good collaborative skills
• completed doctorate

Grounds for assessment
The grounds for assessment are the degree of proficiency in the tasks and duties mentioned above, as well as how well the applicant fits into the department's research profile and teaching profile. Emphasis will be given to how it is assessed that the applicant can contribute to complementing and further developing research and teaching at the department. Special emphasis will be given to pedagogical proficiency, as well as experience of planning, performing and evaluating teaching in English.

Teaching staff at Malmö University are expected to have, or as soon as possible take, a pedagogical higher educational programme of at least 15 credits.
