Lean improvement coach at Scania Financial Services
Scania Financial Services is serving customers, dealers and distributors in 52 markets through 15 captive business units with financing and insurance solutions. In markets where we operate, Financial Services finance about one third of Scania's truck sales. Over 700 dedicated professionals manage a portfolio consisting of 100.000 trucks, buses, coaches and trailers representing around 60 billion SEK of assets. 43.000 of these trucks are covered under a Scania insurance scheme. The concept of Scania Retail System(SRS) is a version of the Scania Production System (SPS) created for the retail organization. Both rest on the same solid Lean foundation of the Scania house and a mindset of continuous improvement based on Scania's core values and principles. Our mission is to drive improvement work in alignment with Scania core values and principles, in order to improve efficiency in daily operations and achieve shorter lead times and deliver value-add for our customers.
The central improvement office within Financial Services, established in 2012, is located in Södertälje and consists of three people; the head of Improvement at Scania Financial Services and two Lean coaches.
We now need to find a replacement for one of our Lean coaches, who has decided to pursue new opportunities outside of Scania. You will be part of a small, highly motivated and energetic team in the inspiring task of driving, coaching and supporting improvement work within the Financial Services group.
Job description
As Lean coach, your main focus is strive to make continuous improvement an integrated part of daily operations through training, coaching and where needed, direct involvement in improvement initiatives in local finance companies or in the head office (Global management for Financial Services). This means:
• Work with local management teams to define clear strategies and plans for improvement work that will contribute to business performance and operational goals
• Provide direct support and guidance to local finance companies in their continuous improvement initiatives (where needed)
• Develop Lean improvement methodology within our organisation
• Train new employees in the basic principles of flow efficiency and leadership values
• Support local Lean coaches so that they understand the concept, principles and tools for continuous improvement - through coaching and train-the-trainer events
• Create best practice exchange (both virtually and by organizing workshops) for the network
• Work with the management team at Head Office to plan and follow-up strategic focus area development within Finance Companies
• Drive central improvement work / training / specific projects where needed
• Liaise with other Lean functions within Scania
Job requirements
We are looking for a high potential with ambitions to support our further development in this area. You have a couple of years relevant experience of working with Lean improvement work and operational experience of some kind. You enjoy working in a multicultural organization and to travel. You might have a degree in business or similar but from our perspective the most important thing is that you understand and believe in the Scania values and mindset.
Your skills and/or qualities should include: .Direct experience of working with improvement work and change management
• Excellent knowledge of Lean mindset and methodology
• Excellent experience of workshop facilitation and training
• Experience of project management
• Experience of preparing and presenting presentations to management teams
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Swedish desirable
• Operational experience from a sales to delivery function is a plus
• Process mapping skills is a plus
• Leasing and financing business knowledge is a plus

The job offers plenty of international contacts with our Finance companies. This also means that you are expected to travel from time to time.
In this position you will be reporting to the Head of Improvement at Scania Financial Services.
