Does your most intense interest lie in communication, production and programming? Then this might just be the job for you! Starbreeze is now looking for a Lead Tools Programmer to lead one of our kick-ass teams in Stockholm.

You are going to work in a team that is in the process of developing a new engine that will set the base for all future developments in the company. As a Lead Tools Programmer you will lead all the tools programmers in the game team, and will be the teams' point of contact with the engine team. You will mentor and provide guidance to all programmers in your team regardless if it is about gameplay, visuals, online or AI. You will relay your team to the engine programmers by ensuring good communication within and between both teams as well as ensure proper follow-up.

Job Tasks:

Manage communications and provide feedback to tools programmers
Help with communication between different programming departments
Profiling game and tools
Debugging game and tools
Help with game programming whenever the need is required
Quality assure game code
Manage communication with other departments

You have at least 5 years of professional game development. You have prior experience working as a programmer on at least two shipped titles and you possess excellent C++ skills. Your interest lies in communication, production and programming. You possess excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written, and you also have excellent knowledge in engine performance, analyzing, and debugging.

To be successful in this position you are:

You are an organized and good leader, strategic, and thoughtful in all interactions with the team
Experience with scripting languages, such as LUA, JavaScript, Python
Ability to lead team, communicate well, being proactive and self-driven
Must have an expert understanding of production and be able to problem-solve, schedule, communicate and monitor tasks
Great with time estimations, assessments and prioritizing
Familiarity with multiplayer games
Familiarity with animation, physics and gameplay code in general
