As a Noise Vibration & Harshness Test Engineer we offer you an interesting and developing environment. In this position you will work with the complete vehicle in a wide range of projects and quality improvements covering both conventional diesel and full electric buses.
The Verification & Validation testing team is part of Customer Quality Experience at Volvo Buses. Our responsibility is to verify and validate complete vehicles, components and its features. The type of tests performed are typically interior noise, exterior noise, component vibration (durability) and component rig tests such as modal analysis or sound power testing.
As a NVH Test Engineer you work independently with full responsibility to manage your tasks and you cooperate with many different roles within the company. You will plan your test, choose proper methods and equipment, execute the test, analyze and report the result. The majority of the NVH tests are performed at our proving ground Hällered, but also at our different development and production sites for example in Gothenburg, Wroclaw, Mexico city and Curitiba.
As a Lead Test Engineer, you are responsible for continuously update our test methods and propose updates of Technical Requirement together with the technology area. Furthermore, you will define strategies and develop test methods for new technologies and you are a go-to-person that train and mentor less experienced.
You will be part of an engaged and tight team where we rely on cooperation and support from each other to reach our targets.
Qualifications
MSc in Sound & Vibration or equivalent
Good English language skills
NVH measurement technique knowledge and documented experience, e.g. the use of accelerometers and microphones
Signal analysis knowledge and narrowband analysis skills
Good understanding of airborne sound propagations, sound absorption, transmission loss of materials and how noise is generated in mechanical systems such as gears, engines, motors, fans etc.
Good knowledge and working experience regarding sound attenuation and source encapsulation
Merits
Experience working with buses or other heavy vehicles
Bus driving license
Experience from Müller BBM PAK
Experience from Head Acoustics Artemis
