As our new Lead Systems Administrator you will be responsible for maintaining and further developing the company's systems and infrastructure as well as mentoring and leading team members. You and the team will be collaborating closely with other key technology departments such as Pipeline and R&D to make sure the infrastructure and technology supports the ever increasing requirements for high end visual effects.

Task and responsibilities
This role includes but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain and further develop operation of all systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure that all systems are deployed and kept up to date with accurate operational documentation and monitoring.
- Ensure system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting system hardware, software, and operating system issues.
- Collaborate with R&D and Pipeline team to resolve technical problems as well as developing new solutions
- Provide technical management oversight, assign work across the team, and mentor team members.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, evaluating and recommending new solutions.
Required skills
- Deep knowledge of Linux systems administration and management.
- Experience with large-scale storage solutions such as Isilon, GPFS, Gluster.
- Extensive knowledge of networking, security and scalability.
- Prior experience in datacenter management and planning.
- High level of analysis and problem solving skills
- Resourceful and proactive in gathering information, making decisions and taking action
- Able to manage own workload and balance conflicting priorities
- Demonstrated ability in leading technical teams and collaborating across departments.
- Enthusiastic, organized and confident.
- Excellent written and spoken English.

Important Looking Pirates is one of Scandinavia's biggest visual effects studios. Located in the heart of Stockholm we create photorealistic VFX for international TV series and feature films.

Our latest projects include films like Star Wars - The Last Jedi, Jurassic World - Fallen Kingdom and Aladdin, and TV series like Carnival Row, Game of Thrones, Westworld and Lost in Space.
Our new headquarters is located in the famous Norstedts building on the islet of Riddarholmen. The office is designed to inspire creativity and to provide the best possible work environment for creating spectacular visual effects. Almost a third of the office consists of social areas where the pirates gather to have lunch and celebratory fikas, get company updates, participate in fussball tournaments, and hang out for Friday beers.
