Transport Mission & Route Management within Vehicle Automation is now looking for a new colleague.
Our mission is to build part of the brain of Volvo 's self-driving vehicles. We develop the prediction horizon technology, decision and control technology within the transport mission and route management, it includes decision of destination, speed, route and activities along the transportation. We set requirements of a control mission management system that will enable control of self-driving vehicles status and new offerings towards customers.

What You Will Do
As a Lead System Design Engineer your core responsibilities and activities are:
• Drive Transport Mission Management and Route Management dynamic systems modeling and design activities for products that bring high customer value
• High Performance Computing and Dynamic Systems modeling
• Lead system design development within the area of Transport mission & Route management
• Technical presentations to customers and partners
• Support development of new business opportunities
• Seek new customer / market opportunities for autonomous technologies
• Design, develop, and perform systems engineering duties in the development of transport mission and route management area
• Present and pursue ideas for internal and external research and development
• Participate in new technology / business development activities including identification of new technology / business opportunities, proposal writing and customer presentations

Deliverables
• New technology and products within automation
• System design methods and modeling
• Use case deliveries
• Initiate and drive development of new products and features
• Identify new product opportunities

Must-have Skills
• PhD or Master in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• 5-10 Years' experience in Automotive Industry
• Strong technical background within Automation and robotics technology
• Strong knowledge of System complexity
• Knowledge in energy management
• Passion for new technology and autonomous solutions
• Solid communication skill
• Winning attitude and team working skills
• Customer oriented mindset
• Entrepreneurial Thinking
• English fluent (written and verbal)

You understand software engineering and have an end customer focus, delivery precision, patience, a coaching mind-set and good communication skills.

Beneficial skills
Beneficial skills and experience include Programming and simulation and modeling. Experience with python, C, Java, C# and C++ programming skills, vehicle dynamics, restraints, braking and steering systems skills are a plus.
