Within Systems Engineering, the group System Information Management has a special responsibility to ensure appropriate product documentation, for the embedded system, along the product life cycle. Our team of system engineers, configuration managers and release managers works across several functions, sites and brands, and with engineers from many different areas within our global development organization.The group has a specific responsibility for the updating and releasing of the so called Signal Database defining the communication on the vehicle networks as well as the related process and tools - a work that requires both engineering expertise and administrative skills in order to provide good to support for the global organization. For this, we are now looking for a System Design Engineer within the area of Network Communication. This job is central in process, it includes a hot delivery, it is driven by new functions and technologies and it is fun!Position DescriptionAs a System Design Engineer, Network Communication you will:Based on various inputs like system solutions and requirements, and dialogue with function, application and system developers, you will advise on and set the Network Communication design including signal definitions, timing, frame packing, etc.Manage, release, and distribute the resulting Network Communication configuration in appropriate formats like arxml, dbcs, ldfs, etc., according to the master time plan and the product incrementsAdvise on system structuring, documentation and planning to consider aspects such as flexibility, variety and backwards compatibilityDevelop related way of working, tools and tool integrations to improve lead time and allowing agility and continuous integration. This is a central part of the jobCoach, train and support other system engineers, function and application developers, in the way of working and as a general competence of Network Communication. Develop appropriate material like guidelines and instructionsWho are you?Engineer who is both structured and thorough, with an open mind and own drive for change and continuous improvement, and with a positive attitude in team workMSc electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics or similarExperience of embedded systems within automotiveInsights into communication networks like CAN and LIN, but also other like automotive Ethernet, and related pieces of AutosarAbility to improve tools and process through own skills to develop scripts, use APIs, etc.Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
