Polestar core is all about delivering safe, scalable, and robust systems to enable services and technologies for an intelligent vehicle. We are the heart and the brain of the vehicle that interface to core system components to deliver complex vehicle functions. We are responsible for the Core System which includes a high-performance multicore Computing Platform, hosting multiple future applications ranging from climate control to infotainment and autonomous driving.
What you 'll do
You will work in agile, cross functional teams and contribute to the integration of the new generation of software onto the core system platform. As a lead software integration engineer for the core system, you will
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner OEM(s) to understand the SW development and integration of applications onto the core system.
• Manage the software integration activities related to the high-performance platform of the Core System. Identifying and planning integration order and target CPU.
• Integrate and debug Software Components into a working baseline.
• Create and maintain procedures across the development lifecycle related to software integration and testing. Ensure best practices are followed.
• Assess of the performance of the core system using industry standard tools including: Kernel analysis, Network trace analysis, Diagnostic Log and Trace, multi-process resource loading.
• Use automation as an opportunity to reduce roadblocks and achieve deliverables.
• Work with hypervisors and virtualisation in an embedded environment.
• Aid in testing and debugging automotive service-oriented middleware e.g SOME/IP (SD)
• Analyse or debug inter process communication
Who you are
You have a strong wish to create the future of electric vehicles - it's probably fair to call you an EV nerd. You are enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized, and driven. You have a knack for solving complex integration puzzles, debugging and testing. You have an inquisitive nature, and you will not rest until you analyse the issues at hand and reach to the root cause. You're not afraid to try new approaches and unconventional methods, and you work well both individually and within diverse teams. You have a holistic view, including vision, business, and customers.
At Polestar, you will be part of a cross-functional and international team, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication. Personal fit will be of great importance in this recruitment, as we are actively working to build a team with diverse experience, gender, and background.
To be successful in this role, we believe you have:
• Degree qualified in the field of computer science, mechatronics, electrical/electronic engineering or comparable. Other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience may be considered
• 5+ years of experience of software integration ideally in the automotive sector
• 2+ years of experience with hypervisors/virtualisation and high performance computing platforms used in automotive environments
• Strong background in embedded/distributed systems with clear understanding of software partitioning, multithreading/concurrency concepts
• Experienced in automotive middleware (e.g. SOME/IP)
• Experienced in Ethernet and CAN network communication and associated protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP). LIN advantageous but not mandatory
• Experienced in the estimation, measurement and/or optimisation process of embedded systems (embedded software, hardware, operating system etc.)
• Experience in automotive embedded platform and application software development on Linux or QNX
• Hands on experience with scripting languages for SW testing and automation.
• Good knowledge on software architecture, design, and quality according to the ASPICE process model is preferable
• Good working knowledge of modelling languages, ideally using UML, SysML is preferable
• Experience in automotive embedded platform and application software development using AUTOSAR is preferable
