hela Sverige We are looking for a lead research engineer with the task to:
Lead the newly formed environmental perception team to ~50% of the time
Do own work in the area to ~50% of the time e.g. R&D work or to lead projects
The team consist of six persons plus external contractors and partners and has the task to develop and prepare the future environmental perception plattform. The system includes sensors like radars, cameras with image processing, lidars, ultrasonic sensors, GPS and the development of sensor fusion strategies and platform. The fusion platform merges, filters and fuses information from the environmental sensors as well as with IMU data, data from wireless links from surrounding vehicles, infrastructure, digital maps and selected ?targets?, likely paths and tracks etc for use in the application and decision algorithms for active safety and vehicle automation features. Artificial intelligence and deep learning algorithms for the perception system is included.
The perception platform is of key importance for our development of active safety and vehicle automation functionalities where our target is to be leading. The platform is and will be used in several different application projects (Active Safety and Vehicle Automation), the perception platform is developed in collaboration with internal neighbor teams and external partners.
Our area of work (Vehicle Automation, Active Safety and Vehicle Dynamics) is a growing area where the R&D efforts will continue to grow during the coming years which means that the room for personal development and growth will be good.
You will join our multinational team of research and development engineers focusing on the development of advanced driving assistance, active safety, vehicle dynamics and vehicle automation technologies for our brands Volvo, Renault, Mack and UD trucks.
You will have opportunity to lead research and development projects and work in an international environment in the forefront of automotive research. Beside the internal projects we often lead and/or participate in national or international R&D projects together with suppliers, other OEM?s, Universities and research institutes across Europe.

The role to lead the environmental perception team at ATR includes:
To assure
That the strategies for the perception plattform is developed and anchored
The execution of work according to the strategies
Development of platform way of working cross projects
Project deliveries according to agreed delivery plan
Resource planning
To propose and when decided, drive outsourcing of work related to the teams are of work
Together with the group manager drive competence development within the team
Own R&D work in the area of the team e.g. work in projects or to lead R&D projects related to the perception system
Experience and qualifications:
You have a master degree or PhD in Engineering Physics, Signal processing, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science or similar.
You have a positive attitude and the willingness and ability to take lead for a team to drive the teams progress and deliveries. Leadership skills and abilities will be highly valued.
You have a strong technical background in one or more of the following areas and have more than 5 years?
