We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our Innovation & Technology (I&T) community.
Our three innovation centres in Austria, Finland and Sweden have more than 500 employees in total. We are continuously investing in R&D aligned with the overall company strategy showing the importance of R&D and innovation for Borealis. In 2020 we broke our own record of number of patent applications and we will continue to develop new technologies and novel, value-added products that will benefit society as a whole.
In this role, you will manage a variety of different I&T projects in the Polyolefin, Hydrocarbons or Catalyst area as well as in the strategically important field of Circular Economy.
Your tasks and responsibilities will be:
Define the project scope and objectives together with the Project Owner and support to prepare a business case
Responsible to deliver the project scope within time and budget
Planning and tracking the project within constraints such as time, cost and quality standards
Risk management and active follow up in projects, including implement mitigation actions
Effective stakeholder management with different functions within Borealis as well as external partners including facilitation of team and stakeholder meetings
Work directly with the team members, motivate them, give them feedback, direction, vision, and make sure that the project is staffed and skilled appropriately
Define development needs and personal targets for team members and agree implementation with line manager of the team members
Effectively manage changes in projects & necessary escalations
Understand needs and types of agreements/contracts with external partners and setup and negotiate if needed

About you
We are looking for a people oriented Project Manager with background in Chemistry or Engineering (university degree), knowledge of polymers/hydrocarbons and good commercial understanding. You should already have some years of professional Project Management experience in industry.
Your success in this role will highly depend on your ability to deal with a variety of topics, on your ability to guide and lead people and your strong drive to succeed.
You have an interest in the commercial, customer and value chain aspects, which play a major role in project work. You have an interest in intellectual property rights and understand the importance and how to protect inventions. You will work in an international and diverse team & environment where good teamwork and co-operation is a key factor in your work.

We offer a role specific compensation and a competitive salary and fringe benefit package reflecting your profile, experience and the specifics of the country/location you apply for. Following Austrian law regulations we offer competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement chemical industry starting at EUR 63.389,- annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background.
