Job Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity as Lead Project Manager to be an important part in paving the way for Vattenfall offshore development projects.
As Lead Project Manager you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team towards important project milestones. In addition you will have portfolio responsibility including the strategic view of different international offshore development projects.

The Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall's Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as other non-hydro Renewable activities like PV/Solar. Our offshore business is amongst the top three players globally and we are currently constructing the world's first subsidy free offshore site. Our offshore portfolio consists at present of 2,0 GW installed capacity and 2,5 GW, which are under construction or in pre-construction. It is our clear ambition to continue and even accelerate our strong growth in the future, and help Vattenfall succeed in its mission to make fossil free living possible within one generation.
What will you do?
You will report to the Head of Bids, who manages the team of project managers and project directors in the development phase of the project. As Lead Project Manager you will lead a multi-disciplinary team, international, internals and externals from different domains (risk, valuation, HSE, technical project manager, controller, permit manager, project management officer etc.) towards the successful development of the offshore wind farms. You will be responsible for the timely delivery of the project, according the quality standards and the budget. You will need to liaise with internal and external stakeholders for the benefit of the project, and balance the project's need to progress in development versus the need to deliver a commercial viable project.
Defining a development strategy and guide the organization what it takes to take FBD
Being required to drive to commercial and technical decision topics
Delivering and preparing the bid to fit given tender rules, such as CfD-bids, beauty contest
Prepare decision material and presentations for senior management
Structuring the project such that internal governance, business case runs and permit application submissions are reflected adequately
Managing the collaboration with the external partners and suppliers to the project
Preparing and controlling the project budget periodically
Using your thorough understanding of business case, LCOE and revenue dynamics to steer the project towards a viable project from a permitting, technical and commercial perspective
Ensuring delivery within quality, scope, and budget
Planning and securing resources needed in the projects
Leading, motivating, and supporting the project team
Actively managing stakeholders and their expectations as well as project risks
Preparing the project handover to the project delivery organization

Location
The work location can be in Stockholm in Sweden, Hamburg in Germany or Kolding in Denmark.

Qualifications
For succeeding in the role
You are experienced in anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. You are action-oriented and consistently setting goals for yourself and taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense high energy and enthusiasm. You have a strategic and analytical mindset that allows you making sense of complex and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems and seeing ahead future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies. You can manage and operate effectively even things are not certain or the way forward is not clear.
As our new Lead Project Manager you have a passion for sustainability and project management. You have a structured way of working. You have excellent interpersonal skills and are a natural leader and team player, who actively engages people by asking, sharing, helping or asking for help. Furthermore, you have:
University degree in engineering, business, economics or similar; other educational backgrounds are welcome
Minimum 10 years of relevant professional work experience within large international organizations
Minimum 5 years of professional work experience in project management especially wind projects in realization and/or development, or comparable projects; it is considered an advantage if you have experience working in the offshore wind industry
Ability to adapt relevant national legislation and tender rules
Experience in working with and presenting to Senior Management
Your career has exposed you to tasks at the intersection of commercial and technical topics
Excellent Communication skills in English both verbally and written
