Who we are
Platform Development is a function within Volvo Buses which is responsible for platform development, architecture, project management and test. In this organization we have our group BiW and Body Components. We are a diverse and enthusiastic team of 10 committed engineers with global platform responsibility.
What will you do?
When you become a part of our team at the group BiW and Body Components, you will get all benefits from a large and international company but also the benefits you will find in a smaller company.
As a lead mechanical engineer Interior front you have the global technical responsibility and lead the strategies. You will lead the development and integration of new components in our future products for our electric, hybrid and diesel buses. You will work in close cooperation with product design, HMI, purchasing and suppliers for example. Your work will also involve collaboration with colleagues in our sites in Brazil, Poland, Mexico and India as well as with our Volvo owned brands Prevost and Nova in North America.
We believe that to be successful in this position you enjoy working in a team and love to develop complex systems with the customer perspective in mind. You have a broad knowledge and experience of engineering and regulations for vehicles suited for public transportation. You also have experience from the automotive industry and get motivated by working in a truly global, cross functional environment.
Qualifications
Master degree in Engineering in relevant area or equivalent based on relevant work experience
Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
Good knowledge in CAD. Preferable CATIA V5
Experience from product development of vehicle interior
Experience of Volvo Group product development processes and tools is a merit
