Eka Engineering is the engineering and contracting division within AkzoNobel Pulp and Performance Chemicals. We specialise in the design and supply of chloride dioxide plants and equipment to the pulp and chemical industries.
We have an opening for a Lead Mechanical Engineer who will effectively manage and execute sub-projects within the Mechanical discipline in the scope of Eka Engineering. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will also be involved in developing methods as well as the working process and standards for the business unit.
You will be part of an international, diverse team with a lot of experience and an open mind-set where sharing knowledge is a matter of course. This position will have you network within as well as outside the organisation and travel at least 50 to 100 days a year. It can be a very good learning platform for someone with the right attitude and interest in becoming a project manager.
Main responsibilities
• Lead and manage Mechanical design in external and internal projects and interact with other disciplines as procurement, process, process control, electrical and project administration.
• Plan the resource need together with the Project Manager.
• Follow up the work within the discipline.
• Ensure that the design meets requirements by law, standard and contract by conducting design reviews.
• Responsible for communication with other disciplines in order to find optimal solutions in the projects.
• Responsible for Site Supervision within the discipline.
• Provide input to cost estimates, time schedules and technical documents in the Sales phase for the Mechanical discipline.
• Constantly try to improve the ways of working.
• University degree, Mechanical institute.
• Minimum 5 years work experience.
• Experience from investment projects in the Pulp or Chemical process area.
• Knowledge about Engineering tools such as Excel and AutoCad.
• Ability to travel 50-100 days/ year.
• Knowledge in project management systems and tools.
• Strong ability to cooperate, teamwork oriented.
• Goal focused.
• Multicultural / ethnical skills.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, spoken and written, a third language is preferred.
