Who we are
The ART (Agile Release train) Deceleration&Steering, part of the Solution Vehicle Platform within the unit Product Creation at Volvo Car Group, is now looking for a committed and collaborative colleague. The ART Deceleration&Steering is responsible for the delivery of the complete Brake and Steering system including components like caliper, brake modulation, steering gear etc
The ART is divided into 3 competence areas;
• Steering Software and Controls
• Brake Software and Mechatronics and
• Brake and Steering Hardware
You will be a part of the Brake and Steering Hardware group
We work in close cooperation with our suppliers, internal customers, and several different car projects. We deliver to new car projects and to current running production.

Working as a Lead Engineer you will have the possibility to influence the future of our steering system. Together with your teammates you will be responsible for securing the quality of your components as well as securing the overall compliance in the complete vehicle.
This role demands high competence in project management of our suppliers. It is a role where you will develop and strengthen your leadership skills when it comes to everything between cost to making sure the time plan is kept.
You will also have high possibility to change and improve the way of working in the team and you will be encouraged to constantly develop yourself and your team-mates.
As a lead engineer you will interact with many different stakeholders and you will have the opportunity to create a broad network within Volvo Cars.
What you'll do
As a lead engineer in the steering gear Hardwae team, you will be responsible for the cost and quality of our steering gear. You will daily interact with internal stakeholders such as purchasing and the production plant, as well as our suppliers. You will be part of a team of 5 people, and you will work in 12 weeks increments with 2-weeks sprints. Your priorities will be set by your Product Owner, but the team is expected to understand what tasks you need to focus on and drive the progress of those.
We are looking for
• You have a technical education, preferably a master's degree in mechanical engineering and 3 years' experience in product development of Steering systems
• You have very good knowledge and experience in Project Management
• You have proven communication/coaching skills and proven knowledge in SAFe/Scrum
• As a person you drive your own business and can take decisions based on risk-assessment. You are curious and want to develop yourself and your surroundings. You have high working morals and are willing to go the extra mile when that is needed
