Lead Engineer - Park Assist Camera

At Research and Development you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers from around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. Are you interested in development of automated parking assistance systems? Do you share our passion for people, the environment and our urge to create a superior driving experience? Research and Development is the place for you to prosper.
The department of Safety Electronics has been a rapidly growing part of Volvo Car Group over the last decade. In no small part this is due to development within Active Safety where Volvo, through continuous launching of innovative and world first safety features, has positioned itself among the leaders in the automotive industry. Now the work continues to reach our ambitious vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo.

Safety Electronics consists of approximately 65 employees organized into four sections: Preventive Safety, Protective Safety, Supportive Safety and Sensor Fusion. Within the department we develop systems such as Collision Avoidance, Autonomous Drive, Full Automatic Parking, Driver Support and Protective Safety. To do this we use sensor systems based on Radar, Laser, Ultrasonics, Cameras and Accelerometers. Through Sensor Fusion, these sensors are combined to create an awareness of the vehicle surroundings that can be used by various Driver Assist and Safety Functions to support the driver.

We are involved in all aspects of the product development process, from early research and advanced engineering projects to industrialization of the systems in accordance with Volvo Product Development System, VPDS.

As a replacement for our current Lead Engineer for Park Assist Camera (PAC) you will enter a project that's running at full speed with verification activities ongoing in-house at Volvo and in field expeditions both also on site at the supplier. You will act as the primary contact with the supplier's engineering team while maintaining a number of interfaces within R&D, purchasing & manufacturing. Development is performed in close cooperation with a supplier in a creative and international work environment.
