Interior development is now looking for a new colleague, so if you are passionate about automotive interior concepts and want to reach your personal goals together with other people, then we welcome you to join us as Lead engineer in our Front seat system engineering team in Volvo Cars. The interior of the car is one of the most important areas to influence on customers wellbeing, satisfaction and a motivation to buy a Volvo again and now you have the opportunity to make an impact! The position will develop your innovation and strategic skills, your business acumen and your ability to make complex requests pragmatic and economically viable.
At Front Seat system engineering we are responsible for delivering a great customer experience of front seat comfort, Scandinavian design, luxury and safety. We lead the development of a complete integration of the Front seat into the vehicle, balanced to project requirements. Our diverse group consists of around twenty persons with different competences and backgrounds and who, in spite of different work areas, are one team. We are now searching for a Lead Engineer, who will inspire and motivate colleagues, drive and lead projects further to the next level.
What you'll do
You will be working in one of the teams in our agile environment which is just getting into life in our group. Fast changes and proactivity are part of our daily work, we are working with the flow according to current needs and development of the product.
You role will be a cross functional task leader within Front seats who is assigned to one or more projects, depending on a size of the projects. As a Lead engineer you will lead the design and development task within a cross functional team according to time, technology, quality and costs. You will work together with internal teams and supplier to fulfill project deliverables and meet milestones. You will take the responsibility for mechanical and structural of complex mechanics/mechatronics product.
You and your skills
You have M.Sc./B.Sc degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering or several years of relevant experience. You are expected to have experiences with automotive industry and product development processes, ability to see the complexity of the whole process and have an understanding of the system requirements.
Leading experiences are important, as well as having the integrity and knowledge, to be able to lead in the right direction with the right arguments and have the constructive collaboration with the suppliers. It is beneficial to have experiences within interior design and product development.
It would be an advantage to have TeamCenter and Volvo Product Development Process knowledge. English is however mandatory as it is our company language and it would be a merit to have a driving license "B", to be able to drive and experience our final products.

You need to lead by example and guide your colleagues effectively and knowledgeable. On this position we expect someone with great communication and presentation skills. You should have great interest in design and product development. Further, we are looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow, have the leadership skills and wants to develop them even more.
