What you will do
As a Lead Engineer you will have the possibility to influence the future of the Exterior Lower Front area. Together with your team mates you will be responsible to secure the quality of your components as well as securing the overall compliance in the complete vehicle. In this role you will be responsible for the complete lifetime of your components.
It is a role where you will strengthen your cross-functional skills when it comes to everything between securing quality, cost and that the time plan is kept.
You will daily interact with internal stakeholders such as design and the production plants, as well as our suppliers.
Your future team
The Exterior CAB department within Volvo GTT is now looking for a committed and collaborative colleague. The Exterior section consist of four teams.
• Exterior
• Exterior Aero Devices
• Visibility HW
• Lower Front
You will be a part of the Exterior Lower Front team, located in Gothenburg. The Exterior Lower Front have a interesting journey ahead. The demands for Aerodynamic , safety and sensors installation is developing very fast, This means that our team need to have the skills to look into the future and advance engineering is Vital.
The Cab Lower Front team includes engineering areas such as the bumper, lower front panel and grille, FUP (front underrun protection), Electronic installations etc for the Volvo brand (FH, FM and FMX). All areas include advanced plastic and metal engineering with the aim to give our products a premium look and world class quality with sustainability in mind.
In our team we're working with projects from concept phase to end of life for our products. We're now in a really exciting phase with a variety of new projects, where you will take a great part of the development work.

We are looking for you who holds a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience. We see that you have several years of experience in plastic engineering and a proven track record of extensive development expertise spanning from early concept phases to industrialization and maintenance phases. Experience in cross-functional collaboration within the automotive product development process is essential. To sucess in this role you should demonstrate a proactive approach, taking responsibility and being accountable for tasks.
Other required knowledge/experience:
• Verbal and written communication skills in English. Swedish, is a merit
• Documented Automotive knowledge
• Documented skills in Catia V5
• You have proven knowledge in SAFe/Scrum
• Knowledge in Volvo's internal systems KOLA, is a merit
• Driver license B, C is a merit
