The group Fuel Lines and EVAP system has, as all fuel systems to comply with severe and challenging legal requirements when it comes to safety and emissions. Due to development more efficient power trains in combination with new vehicle programs, we now need to strengthen our team with an experienced lead engineer to secure long term competence and to deliver our future projects. The Fuel section 97420 is one of the development departments within powertrain installation. It consists of approximately 55 employees in four groups. The other groups include project management, distribution, and fuel tank and fuel fill.
As a Lead Engineer for the EVAP system and fuel lines you work with system designers and product managers in the concept phase of platforms and projects and lead the assignment in the industrialization phase of the project up until production start. Your team consists of CAD engineers, test engineers, suppliers etc. and you are leading the team towards technical, financial and timing targets. Since fuel lines and EVAP system has boundaries to most engineering areas in the vehicle, you will have a large network within R&D.
Main responsibilities
• To lead the team creating technical solutions for fuel lines, carbon canisters, valves, sensors and fasteners
• Documenting the assignment by updating and releasing documentation for systems and components
• To push forward and establish the necessary decisions for the handling of deviations
• Quality assure the design solutions through cross functional follow-up as well as analysing the verification need and follow up test result
• Ordering test objects, soft and hard tools and bought assignments
Required qualifications
• B.Sc university degree or equivalent experience
• 10 years of experience within product development
• 5 years of experience from project management, ability to guide others, to communicate and work in team
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written
• Driving license at least B*
• Experience of Volvo systems KDP, TCE and amendment process with Volvo Part Concern is meritorious
• M.Sc university degree is meritorious
• Experience in work with Catia V5, 3D/2D is an advantage
• Design Experience in polymeric or metallic materials will be an asset
• Experience of motors, electrical equipment and / or chemical processes is desirable
• Experience of Quality Work with Design For Six Sigma is meritorious

• Strong technical competence with will and ability to understand our components and systems
• Great project management skills and ability to drive to finalise tasks
• Interested in and capable of driving issues, create teams and to prioritise features and data
• Communicative and a good team-player
