The focus for Volvo Trucks is to be the world leader in sustainable transport solutions and Special Vehicles is an important contributor to achieve that. To make this happen we need talented people onboard.
The Special Vehicles Development organization dedicated to Volvo Trucks brand in Sweden is responsible to develop low volume solutions and specific customized offers for Volvo Heavy Duty ranges (FH, FM, FMx).
Special Vehicles Development is also a major contributor to innovation project for the Volvo group with development of demo-trucks and staggered introduction of new technologies (e-mobility, automation and connectivity).

We are a team of ~20 persons. The team is truly cross-functional with a mix of people from different areas; chassis, cab, electrical & wiring, software, chief project managers and also vehicle and geometrical architects.
Together we have a broad and long experience from developing Volvo Trucks Heavy Duty products. Our culture is based on trust, accountability and a business mindset and we all share the same belief that everything is possible if we do it together.

Role Description
You will be part of a new area within Special Vehicles focusing on Body builder solutions for electrical vehicles. The aim is to contribute to the complete truck offering, to secure that Volvo's electrical vehicles are compatible with body builder equipment so that our customers gets a complete solution.
You and the cross-functional team will co-create with bodybuilders to develop new innovative and premium solutions and prepare for energy efficient installations. The tasks for the team includes everything from initial discussions with body builders and customers, concept generation, get trucks on the road and finally also make sure relevant documentation is done. As the team is new, you will have a possibility to influence the role and the team will be shaped depending on the members. As we are looking for two new colleagues, we hope to find persons with different backgrounds and different skills. You will have the possibilities to develop your knowledge by working with field tests, customer collaboration, demo vehicles and a competent team.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
For success in this role, we expect you to have a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field of study.
We are looking for you that has experience from body builder business in combination with truck knowledge either, engineering, testing and verification or certification.
We believe you are person that keeps the holistic view, thinks from a system perspective and have the customer in mind. In this role, we also see a need for an agile mindset.
You are curious, have courage and integrity and feel comfortable working autonomously. You have ability to build trust and to manage networking across the engineering-, manufacturing-, purchasing and sales and marketing organizations.
