Our section Audio & Displays is responsible for the audio systems, tuners and antennas and displays including the functionality closely connected to the driver and consists of around 50 people working in three different groups. The section is part of the unit Electrics/Electronics & Chassis. The group Driver Information is a very experienced group where people take responsibility for their deliveries. We have SW Engineers, HW Engineers, Lead Engineers, Function Owners, Function Realisators and a Technical Expert within the group. We are responsible for the development and implementation of the Driver Information Module (DIM), Head up Display (HUD), Center Stack Display (CSD) and for functions such as Belt Reminder, Fuel Level Indication and Clock.
This is a fast developing technical area with a lot of focus within the company. We are now looking for you who have experience from project management, are self-driven, positive and a good team player. As Lead Engineer you will lead and coordinate the planning and implementation of hardware and software in different projects. You will work closely together with system designers, interaction designers, test engineers and of course our own hardware and software responsible engineers. You will also have close contact with suppliers with a global footprint and business trips will be required.
Main responsibilities
• Lead the team and plan the work in order to assure all project deliveries are met
• Plan and drive for decisions regarding changes in hardware and software
• Report and establish technical solutions in line and project organisation
• Secure the final product through quality assuring actions such as FMEA, Design Reviews and test planning
• Communicate the project targets, commitments, status and forecasts both to the line organisation and to the project organisation
• Secure that design prerequisites and specifications are ready in time, updated and released
• Follow up budget for the assignment
• Take part in competitor benchmark activities
• Lead technical team meetings with the supplier and the internal team
• Be the main contact to the supplier
Required qualifications
• BSc within electronics, physics, mechatronics or equivalent
• Experience from working as Project Manager or Team Leader
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Driving license B
• Good practical and theoretical knowledge in Volvo Product Development System (VPDS) is an advantage
• Experience from software or hardware design for automotive and broad vehicle knowledge is meritorious
• Knowledge of ISO26262 and Autosar are meritorious
• Other language skills are meritorious
