The section Interior trim, is part of the Interior Engineer department. We develop our systems mainly on built to print basis, but also involve suppliers for development tasks. The Luggage group within the section develops complete luggage trim for XC, V and S-cars including Side trims, Load floors with and without bag holder systems, Recess, Load floor support, Rear sill, Panel window frame and Tail gate lower. Together with suppliers we are also responsible for developing luggage covers. The group develops new system solutions to be implemented in our new car programs as well as yearly updates for current models. We have many interfaces towards groups working with other areas throughout our vehicles.
As Lead Engineer - Luggage within the group Luggage, you will act as a project leader and you will be responsible for all deliverables connected to implementing luggage system solutions into our new car models. You will also grow to take part of, and influence future strategies for luggage solutions for our vehicles. We are looking for a result oriented lead engineer to run a new development project. You will work in a global environment, leading an international cross functional team with many global contacts. Your daily program work is supported by technical coordinators on finance and verification. Main responsibilities
• Manage a cross functional team in engineering projects and ensure delivery with regards to time-, technology- and cos
• Perform design reviews to the team
• Answer for the luggage system solution validation and ensure production launch
• Manage supplier contacts in regards to planning and monitoring
• Ensure commonality between projects
• Work in close cooperation with the suppliers
• Take part of and influence future strategies for luggage solutions in our vehicles
• Attach the line and project structure assignment decisions, development, status and prognosis
• Coordinate investigations and ensure that new investigations / additional orders are requested for investigation prior approval at dedicated forum in project and line
Required qualifications
• University degree in Mechanical engineering
• You have documented experience from automotive industry as design engineer or assignment leadership
• Strong communication skills and fluent in written and spoken English
• Experience/understanding of design work in Catia and other systems that manage drawings and 3-D models is meritorious
• Work experience within interior engineering/design is meritorious

• Strong project management skills, ability to drive tasks towards goals and deliver on time
• Organised, structured and able to handle many tasks simultaneously and to take decisions
• Eager to work in a group and to cooperate with other people
• Self starter and highly motivated to take up challenging tasks
• Customer oriented
