Special Products and Accessories is a "stand-alone" organization within Vehicle Line Management, a fast and nimble organization, where the main mission is to create customized and brand building products, based upon consumer insight, business and market needs. Our role is to be a front-runner and gap filler in Volvo Cars' brand transformation journey. We create innovative products and services that push Volvo Cars' brand promises - we understand you, we protect what is important to you, and we make you feel special - to the next level. Special Products & Accessories is organized into four different business areas: Luxury (e.g. XC90/S90 Excellence), Limited Offer (e.g. Volvo Ocean Race Edition), Commercial (e.g. Police Cars), and Accessories.
R&D and Manufacturing department is responsible for all development and manufacturing engineering within Special Products. We are around 125 employees and contractors divided into 7 groups.
We work within almost every area in the car from electrical, interior, exterior, chassis to manufacturing engineering. From innovations, AE, concept studies to industrialisation programs, quality and ratio.

The group Infotainment & Customization is a part of the R&D and Manufacturing department within Special Products & Accessories. The group consists of app. 25-30 persons and is one of six development groups. The group responsibility is to develop products and functions within the Infotainment & Customization area for Special Products and Accessories. We are a dynamic team with high pace and experience.
The product portfolio today contains products like XC90/S90L Excellence within Luxury, Police cars/ taxi cars within commercial, Infotainment Accessories and new coming products that drives our brand.
We work in close cooperation with our product planning organization to find new ideas and our products significantly contribute to Volvo Cars Business result.
We are now looking for a Lead Engineer to our team.
As a Lead Engineer, you will be part of a cross functional team with project manager, HW/SW specialists and system designers. As Lead Engineer, your responsibility is to lead and align the cross-functional engineering effort to meet time, technical and cost targets for a specific component or system development. With many interfaces, external as well as internal, this is a demanding but rewarding position.
• Main responsibilities
• Actively lead the assignment and ensure that all results and deliveries are in accordance to the request. Any deviations needs to be reported and handled
• Lead the cross-functional team (manufacturing, system, hardware and software designer etc) and cooperate with the suppliers
• Manage creation of system/component solutions TTCQ (Time, technology, Cost, Quality) and handle data in relevant systems.
• Ensure commonality between projects
• Ensure that verification activities are planned and performed in support of the overall project plan

Required qualifications
• M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Experience from the automotive industry within electrical development
• Experience as Lead Engineer within product development
• Experience of tools, processes and workflows within product development
• Driver's license
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken, Swedish is considered a merit
• Ability to deal with a lot of information and quickly acquire new knowledge

• You have good communication skills to match the demands of an international work environment
• You are flexible, creative and like to find alternative solutions to solve upcoming problems
