The interior of the car is one of the most important areas to influence customers' wellbeing, satisfaction, and motivation to buy a Volvo again, and now you have the opportunity to make an impact! At ART Seats and Safety, we are responsible for delivering a great customer experience of seat comfort, Scandinavian design, luxury, and safety. We lead the development of integrating a complete seat into the vehicle, balanced to project requirements. Our diverse group consists of around 20+ persons with different competencies and backgrounds and who - in spite of different responsibilities and expertise - work as one agile team.
What will you do?
You will be part of one of our agile teams developing the complete seat. Fast changes and proactivity are part of our daily work, and we are working with the flow according to current needs and the development of the product.
Your role will be a cross-functional task leader within a specific complete seat. As a Lead Engineer, you will lead the design and development task within a cross-functional team according to time, technology, quality, and costs. You will work together with internal teams, outsourced partners, and suppliers to fulfill product and project deliverables and meet milestones.
Do you fit the profile?
You have at least a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering or equivalent qualifications. You are expected to have experience in the automotive industry and product development processes, combined with an excellent ability to see the complexity of the whole process and understand the system requirements. You have documented experience from seat development at OEM or supplier. You have experience with or a good understanding of Agile WoW.
It would be an advantage to have Team Center and Volvo Product Development Process knowledge and experience. Knowledge of VCC systems is an advantage. Fluent English (written & verbal) is mandatory and having a driver's license (B) would be meritorious.

Leadership experience is important, as well as having the integrity and knowledge to be able to lead in the right direction, with the right arguments while maintaining a constructive collaboration with external suppliers.
