Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally. We are located in Gothenburg and Bangalore and we have close cooperation with the sites in Greensboro and Lyon. We understand the customer and apply our knowledge to develop technical concepts and solutions to satisfy customer and business needs. Our strategy is based on innovation, shared technology, common architecture and brand uniqueness.
Role description
In the position you will lead component development of cab climate components within A/C, heating and air distribution area, for mature application as well as emerging application such as electric vehicles. Focusing in particular in the climate unit (HVAC) area. You will develop components to meet system and vehicle requirements while optimizing for efficiency, quality, cost, weight, manufacturability and serviceability. You will develop and execute design verification plans and test methods and work together with a cross functional network and drive the work with development suppliers. You will also document the development, components and component technical requirements in Volvo systems. You will work in all development phases, from advanced engineering to maintenance and quality improvements.

Required knowledge/experience
Detailed knowledge of Climate systems (AC, air distribution, heating) - preferably knowledge in, but not limited to, the climate unit area
Heat Transfer, Thermodynamic, and Refrigeration Principles knowledge
Knowledge and understanding of SW is considered a merit
CAD (Catia V5) competence is considered a merit
Volvo documentation competence, e.g. KOLA, is considered a merit
Fluency in English, verbal and written
MSc degree in engineering or equivalent
